Windsurfing near the Boiler

The Boiler is a fun wavesailing spot in the heart of Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Conditions favor SW wind for side-off conditions. The Boiler is aptly named because of a shipwreck just offshore. The steamer ship's boiler smokestack extends out of the water about 10 ft. On big wave days the boiler often gets covered by the swells/waves as they roll into the sandbars near shore. Excellent location for first time wavesailors or seasoned professionals.
