Great sailing but not so great for sleeping(airport noise). Many places for slalom sailing or wave sailing. Drive around and you will find places with public beach access besides Stable road. Try out the Sugar Beach Condos. I personally prefer sailing up from Kanaha on a windy day. This takes 2-3 tacks. There are better facilities down there and better parking. Camp one has been closed for a long time but it can be a cool place to check out.
Sprecks is one of the windiest spots on the North Shore. It has a very nice vibe with beautiful beaches and better class of sailor than the more public beaches. ie family friendly.
