Description
Phenomenal spot for anything with N, esp NNW... nothing between Baltimore and here on that vector, so everything evens out nicely. This site can be a nice alternative to Kentmorr for anyone seeking flatter water. Beach grass over sand rigging area with several picnic tables and a lone port-o-john. The launch is a sandy beach that sits back in a well-protected inlet/cove. This cove area offers relatively flat water sailing with most of the area under 5 feet in depth - definitely safe for beginners. Once you get out of the cove area and away from shore, the chop/swell builds up and the depths increase to over head. Only catch is the need to buy a #permit from fishing shops along Rt. 50, and these are not cheap if out of state... but if it's 20+ from NNW, worth every penny. Decent cup of drip coffee to be had at Holly's Restaurant at the end of the road that takes you to the launch...
