This site is best known for its slight thermal boost to southerly winds during the summer months, but works for any wind direction from NNW clockwise around to SSW. Winds with a more westerly direction are offshore and very fluky, but are sailable with a floaty board. The waters are fairly well protected and relatively flat, though a 2-3 foot swell can develop on a solid southerly (>15 knots). There is a large grassy rigging area (it is ~250 yards from the parking area to the water), concession and bathroom facilities during the summer months, and an onsite shop offering windsurfing, kayaking and catamaran sailing lessons and rentals. The shop is open daily during the summer months and weekends in May and Sep.
