Canyon Lake is one of the prettier lakes in the area.
Wind: Only really works on an east wind, where the wind will funnel through the canyon and pick up speed. Too sheltered for other wind directions.
Fees: There is a $4 fee to use the park. A park ranger told me in the past that the $2 watercraft fee only applies to trailered and motorized boats (I had paid the fee and he asked me why).
Launch: is somewhat grassy. It's a nice sandy entrance into the water. There is only about a 1/4 mile reach, but it can be nice. Very flat water.
