Bray Lake is just off the M4 near Maidenhead. Runs are quite short at planing speeds but it's a great spot for beginners and intermediates or for light wind sailing. There is a windsurfing centre (http://www.braylake.com/) here, which has hire & lessons. It's a private lake so there's a launching fee if you just turn up. Like most inland spots the wind can be quite gusty but SW/W winds have a pretty clean run down the lake.
No kitesurfing here.
