This is to place to go for NW winds when the tide is to low to sail the Yacht Club (tide < 2ft). No weed fin needed. On a negative tide the water goes all the way down into the boat channel and super smooth water results. The chop never gets big here, anyway. Go all the way down to the end of Doran Beach park, the launch is just past the coast guard station. I have seen one kiter there, there is a beach. Rigging is best behind the trees, otherwise you are in the full on wind. Best above 20 mph wind. I have sailed it with less but it can get kind of holey as it sits behind Bodega Head (bunch of hills). Watch out for the occasional boat!
