Bingen works best in a W or WNW wind. It has river bends upstream ,which often makes for gustier and lighter conditions than surrounding sites.
It has a large, free parking area and grassy rigging the size of a sports field. There is a steep bank down to the launch, which is mostly gravel along the waterline. There are some pylons and natural obstacles near the launch site to watch for, but they are plainly visible.
Conditions here are normally more slalom-like, with chop but rarely and swell.
