This photogenic and highly photographed spot is also known as Secrets. The wave break is just west of the parking on the rocky point, very close to shore. The elevated bluff gives the photographer an almost surreal vantage point. There is a tricky and slippery launch from the rocks, immediately facing the break. Depending on conditions, and on whether you pay for your own gear, it can be advisable to launch and sail upwind from Sugar Cove, a sandy beach about 1/4 mile further west.

Beware, the wave breaks into shallow rocks. If you ride too far in, you are at risk of hitting barely submerged boulders or coral heads. One boulder in particular will spring up in front of you unexpectedly just as you try to eek out one more turn. Kick out early. Do not hang out on the inside.

Farther out, about 3/4 mile off-shore, is the Spartan Reef break. This is a big-wave break ridable on high surf warning days, when other spots on the coast are closed out. In case of breakage, you face a very long swim in extremely treacherous currents. For anyone considering sailing this spot alone, be advised that an unassisted swim from the reef back to shore is epic, even for very strong swimmers. Also, beware of being separated from your gear - if you let go, the combination of waves and current will take your gear out of reach quicker than you might expect.
