Ausable Point is one of the New York State parks launches for windsurfing. It has 3 season access ,a sandy launch and shallow water for the first few hundred meters that varies from waist to neck deep depending on the lake level. It works on a North through the East to South,but is blocked on a West. There is a day use fee and hot showers and changing next to the launch. You can camp right on the lake and have your own waterfront villa.Caution NY requires pfds and the lake swells on a big [below 5m] South can reach 6+ feet.Take I 87 to exit 35 then East to rt 9 North to park entrance.
