Kite Surfing at 4 mile beach is a great location. The wind is generaly around 15 knots making it ideal for both beginners and pros. The southern end of the beach is generally considered better because of its location and the fact that it is away from the popular swimmers area.

Hazards
- Crocodiles live in nearby estuaries, but the beach is considered safe
- Deadly jellyfish (stingers) are present over the summer months. If you go in the water during this time you MUST wear protective clothing.
- There is a reef to the south of the kitesurfing area
